Warranty Inspection Request

Guarantees and warranties are common features for most products, often included as a free service or as an add-on at an additional cost. This is also true for the roofing and cladding industry, though some paid warranties offer no more coverage than the complimentary ones. At Astral Roofing and Building Ltd, you can request and thoroughly check all manufacturers’ warranties before selecting materials.

Site Inspections

Our surveyors conduct site inspections to verify the adherence to our technical manual’s standards. These inspections include an initial site assessment, stage-by-stage inspections, and a final review. Additional inspections may be required for high-risk areas like basements and roofs.

To keep the manufacturer’s warranty valid, all installations must be inspected annually by a qualified individual, and a record of the inspection must be sent to the manufacturer.

For all new and refurbishment projects, we offer a continuous inspection service to maintain both original manufacturer warranties and our own warranty regarding design and workmanship.

Assurances or Warranties

We are ready to offer a 20-year guarantee for their workmanship, and some even provide lifetime warranties. We ensure that any guarantee is backed by insurance so that you remain covered even if the contractor goes out of business.

  • Standard warranties for roofing materials typically last between 5 and 20 years.
  • However, an extended warranty from the manufacturer, which can last up to 50 years, is preferable.
  • To qualify, all roofing components must be from the same manufacturer, forming a complete roof system.
  • This warranty covers the cost of replacing the entire roof if any component fails, and it can be transferred to a new homeowner upon sale.
  • There are also warranties that cover both labour and materials, but these require the use of a manufacturer-approved contractor.

Request For Warranty Inspection

1. Understand Your Warranty: Before contacting the roofer company, ensure you fully understand the terms of your warranty. Read the fine print to know what is covered and what’s not.

2. Gather Necessary Documentation: Have your warranty document, the date of installation, and any other relevant information. You may also need pictures or evidence of the issue you want inspected.

3. Be Specific: Clearly state what the issue is in your request. The more specific you are, the easier it will be for the company to assist you.

4. Follow Up: If you don’t get a response within a reasonable period, don’t hesitate to follow up. But remember to still be courteous in your communication.

5. Document all Communications: Keep a record of all your interactions with the company. This can be helpful if there are any disputes later.

6. Seek Professional Help if Needed: If the company is not responsive or refuses to honor the warranty, you might need to seek legal advice.
